For lack of a better title. That is something on tomorrow's to do list.
As much as I like love songs, I love me a good and harsh breakup song as well, and this has got to be one of the harshest I've ever heard from my boy Son of Ran, and I love it. SO RAW. This is a really old track but HE'S A BEAST. This is Textual Harassment INDEED.
Till Death Do Us Part - Son of Ran & Memphis ReignsI'm finally 21 now so I can finally go see his shows when he has gigs at clubs and what not. CHEA!
Let's see what else to update with today...I turned 21 last Sunday which was pretty exciting. Spent 6 hours drinking and gambling doing all the things that are prohibited from the under 21 crowd. I must say that after becoming 21 it feels like a whole different place, like you're part of a new club or something even though the people in vegas are there to take your money. They did take my money, 60 dollars to be exact. Luckily I didn't go nuts are burn a lot of cash for the sake of learning to gamble. But after sitting there and watching your amount of money multiply in such a short amount of time I fully understood how easy it is to get addicted to gambling. In a bout 2 hours I had potentially made 160 out of 40 bucks playing video roulette. I thought I could push my birthday luck, but it quickly dwindled away and I watched all my winnings go down, down the drain as I kept telling myself, "just one more, you'll make back your money" as I continued to bet higher and higher. Luckily I had cousins there to restrain me, otherwise I would have sat there all night in that leather chair staring at a video roulette screen buzzed from shots of vodka. But all in all the experience was fun. Since lot of peoples are turning 21 I can always go back and extend the partying into their celebrations as well. =] I also plan on going skydiving before the year is up just to have something more memorable for my 21st birthday. Hopefully I won't die and have this blog be one of the remaining pieces of evidence of my existence here on this planet. LOL. I don't know why I even said that, but I'm really serious about going balls out and following through on skydiving.

In other news, the homie Keven took me to Watch Watchmen in IMAX at the Bridge as a bday present today. After seeing it, I can safely say that is has got to be the movie of the year for me thus far. I welcome any new film to knock its spot off the top of my list. I had actually read the first chapter of Watchmen 3 years ago in my first quarter at Art Institute since I was told it was like THE book to read for aspiring screenwriters since the story was so well written. I had no knowledge they were already in the works of producing the film. But after seeing the film I have to say it blew away my expectations, partially because I wasn't expecting much after reading the reviews on rottentomatoes.com. They had mentioned the film had a "complex narrative structure" and that it turned off a lot of viewers because of this. If you're going into it expecting it to be a superhero movie you're gonna be very dissapointed because the story and dialogue is just chocked full of so much philosophy and insight on so many aspects about human nature. If you're not paying attention you're gonna have a hard time following what's going on. It makes the viewer think about your views about what your value in life and what not. I can fully understand how the themes talked about in the film can completely go over your head for most people who just want to be there to veg out and watch some kick ass action and explosions. Yes there was action and explosions but a very well balanced amount of questions posed to the audience to make you think about your values in life. It was a really intellectual film which was a pleasant surprise to me the most. The visual effects were equally as stunning and after being in school for 3 years and learning how to do all the stuff they did in the film, I have an even deeper appreciation for how much work they put into the effects. I'm not surprised the took over a year in post production rendering out there scenes. I really think you have to watch the film 2-3 times to fully understand everything that's going on as well as read the graphic novel to make the parallels cause for the first time viewer not exposed to the storyline, it is ALOT to take in. I left the theater with my brain feeling oversaturated. but it was a good oversaturation cause it leaves you thinking about things which is what a good film does. It takes awhile for all the content to settle and register in your mind. All in all I would definitely want to see it again, and now am even more compelled to go pick up the graphic novel again from my school library and finish off what i started reading 3 years ago.
