Can anyone say, BEAST. Highlight of the night for me...Now if only they could continue that aggressive style of play for more often than just a couple of plays they would be more than well off.
Outkast has been one of the main reasons why southern hip hop even made it on the map. Man they were spittin mad knowledge back then on this track with the Goodie Mob. Classic.
New Guitar Cover. My voice sounds nasty now that I watch it again. Oh well. I think I'm gonna delete it and redo it. Maybe it's better that nobody hears it. haha yeah right, says the guy who posted it everywhere in the hopes that people watch it. That's the funny thing about Youtube. Every body posts videos in hopes that some other soul floating around on the internet will stumble upon their video and it will speak to them on some kind of personal level. We all want to be heard, let people know who we are, and be known for something. I guess Youtube is just another manifestation of that desire. lol.
Just finished the last spring finale of Bones and I must say it was pretty amazing. I can't wait for the next season! Those writers for that show are geniuses. I thought share a quote from the last few lines of the last episode which hit me pretty hard.
"When you love someone, you open yourself up to personal suffering, that's the sad truth. Maybe they'll break your heart, maybe you'll break their heart, and never be able to look at yourself in the same way. Those are the risks. That's the burden.
You see two people and think, they belong together, but nothing happens. The thought of losing so much control over personal happiness is unbearable. That's the burden.
Like wings, they have weight, we feel that weight on our backs, but they are a burden that lifts us. Burdens which allows us to fly."
Those writers deserve a round of applause. Better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.
The songs in this medley actually got me through some tough times last year. I can remember putting all of these on repeat, especially the Keyshia Cole track so this video hit home pretty hard.
In an effort to try and curb my stupid habit of constantly checking my myspace and facebook and email every like hour, I've decided it to be a good to idea to set a personal limit for myself to designate only 2 times of day to be checking these things daily, and I've decided on 12 noon and 9pm. I'm hoping that I can drop the amount of useless time wasted procrastinating and doing basically nothing on these sites everytime I check them, and hopefully increasing my productivity levels on everything else I need to be working on in life. I'm gonna be graduating after next quarter and if current trends continue I'm gonna be in deep shit when I actually get a job lol. I've realized what happens when I log into any one of these sites is pretty ridiculous. I log in and I'd say about 70% of the time I have no new messages or comments, notifications, etc and then if not I continue to read what everybody else is up to via bulletins, status updates, etc...Then that eventually leads to going onto their profiles, browsing their pics, and one thing just keeps leading to another and oh what's this person up to? and on and on and on and then I realize an hour has gone by, followed by procratinator's remorse. So no more of that nonsense. I need to be getting more stuff done in my life, and once again, like many times in the past, these social networking sites are ruining my productivity. So no more for me, I'm not quitting cold turkey cause honestly I don't think I could do that lol but I'm hoping that there will be no more of this...
When I heard this song on the radio this dude's voice was decieving. Watching the video has destroyed my illusion that he was a black dude and that more rappers were transitioning to more alternative rock for their beats. Boo. Oh well its still a decent track.
All I can say is I'm loving this sunny weather! Despite how much I abhor the heat and the sticky icky feeling you get from sweating, there isn't anything better than rolling around the city with the windows down, bumping your favorite music, and nothing but the sun and shades of blue in the sky. It's the little things like that that make life so much better. Sometimes we get so caught up in the stresses of life, with school, and work, and countless other things that cloud our heads that sometimes we forget to stop and smell the roses. This morning after my mom woke me up real early around 6am (I'm never awake this early) to take out the trash before the garbage man came around, and as I stepped outside in my house slippers lugging those trash bins out into the street I heard birds chirping. It was the first time I had even heard birds chirping in a long time. All I ever hear during the day time when I'm outside is cars honking, engines roaring, and stereo systems blaring. I know its corny but it was nice and a bit refreshing being able to hear a bit of nature in this concrete jungle we live in. I was also reading this post on ISS.
"When you think about the little things that makes you smile, you'll learn to appreciate life more often.
But keep in mind that the little things in life is what make life's good."
It's true. Even try this. If you're feeling kinda down for whatever reason trying consciously forcing yourself to put a smile on your face and straightening your posture. For me at least, it changes my whole attitude usually and I feel a lot better mentally.
Just a few little things that make me feel good on a daily basis.
- Drinking a cold cup of water when I'm thirsty at night. - Parties with the ones that matters. - Chilling in good company - Staring up in the sky and actually being able to see stars. - Coming home after school, and throwing everything I have on onto the floor and laying in bed or zoning for a good 20 minutes. - The cool side of a pillow. - Cookieing somebody in bball and getting that fast break afterward. haha. - Somebody holding the elevator door open for me at school. - Biking to the beach seeing the sun glisten off of the La Ballona Creek and just staring at the ocean. - The feeling I get every time a pretty girl walks past me.
When you think about it its the little things that add up and make a good day even greater, not the big things. So lesson learned for today...don't forget to stop and acknowledge the little things in life!
This is my future wife...She just doesn't know it...I'm on beastmode right now...I don't know who you are...but GODDAMN I could watch this Tostitos commericial a million times!
